Karen followed the wolf that had attacked her brother. She wanted revenge. Or rather Aftran did.
"I just want to go back home." Karen sobbed inside.
"Quiet you, I'm trying to focus here!" Aftran said.
As they continued following, they came upon the Wildlife Rehabilitation clinic. Karen hid behind a tree.
She watched silently as the wolf demorphed, revealing a human in a leotard.
"What? A human with morphing ability?" said Aftran. We must investigate this!"
"Then can we go home?" Karen asked.
"Yes, then we can go home." Aftran promised.
As they walked back, Karen thought of the happier times before she became a Controller. About her family. Her dad was a banker. She had joined the Sharing because she saw them always having so much fun. They were always having barbecues, midnight volleyball, beach parties, hiking, all kinds of fun stuff. And they gave back to the community. At least, that's what the commercials said. Every commercial always made them seem interesting. She joined only for the fun. When they learned her father's position, she became the host for Aftran 942. She was a weak host. It was usually easy for Aftran to gain control of her. But as Aftran heard her cries for freedom, Aftran began to realize that there may be something wrong with what was being done. This child did not deserve this prison. But there was nothing that could change that. This was the way of the Yeerks.
As she continued walking back, Karen tripped. She fell so hard, she sprained her ankle.
"Terrific." Aftran thought snidely. "Now what?"
OOC: Yep this is straight from book 19, just a different POV.
