The last thing Leona could remember was the flashing lights and the sound of Shalaren's thoughts screaming in to her mind. When those amber eyes slowly opened again Leona found that her head was pounding and something warm and wet was trickling down over one of her eye forcing her to close it. When she did however she realized it was still one of four eyes, but she was too dazed to really realize what that meant.
Shalaren had needed someone to man the ships guns when the Yeerks attacked, and they could only be operated through the thought speak. It was to help Shalaren that the human girl took on her friend's form. However, even with Leona's help things still hadn't gone too well, as if that wasn't obvious by the alien ship crashed and mangled in the middle of the woods. It probably wouldn't be long before someone found them.
Those tall slender stalk eyes a top her head moved to scan the wreckage of the ship. A few lights still blinked dimly on the control panel while sparks spurt out here and there, but it was other wise dark. Finally one of those amber orbs caught sight of something that looked exactly like her self in her current form. Leona's head quickly turned to bring her one main eye that was open, the other having blood caked over it. Shalaren was pinned in the wreckage, laying in a pool of her own blood. <Shalaren...> Leona's thoughts called out to her friend in what might of been more of a weak whisper if it had been spoke aloud.
For a moment the female Andalite lifted her head to look at the human still in her own form. How long had it been sense Leona had morphed in to a copy of her self? She wasn't sure how much time had passed while they were both passed out. <Leona...you need to....> Her hand moved to reach out for the other female as her thoughts trailed off, feeling her self slowly starting to slip away in to darkness. With precious little time left she used her last thoughts to say something she considered far more important then warning Leona to change back. <Leona....I'm sorry....>

Jamie had taken on an Andalite name after joining the group. Jamilan-Misheil-Kelain. She had also started considering herself a guy, and had accepted that fact. And so, it was with great amazement at his Andalite form, that the youth-turned-20something-Andalite began to run around the forest, enjoying his body, but keeping within the confines of the shady trees, where no Yeerks or trouble could find him. And at night, almost no-one was out. Almost
The human-turned-Andalite had wandered too far in his insomnia. He wasn't quite sure where he was, now...but no worries. He could easily get back, using the barn owl morph Cassie had provided. Then...suddenly, trouble found him. It was in the form of flashing lights against the dark sky, streaking towards Earth. <Aliens!> Jamilan exclaimed, with both fascination and confusion. <It seems...damaged.>
He ran towards the direction it was falling. He'd run pretty far when he came upon the wreckage, the scent of burnt metal and other materials reaching his nose-slits. And then he saw them. Two Andalites. One was pinned, and wasn't moving. The other, identical Andalite was breathing, but in pain. Jamilan trembled; he really hadn't had much contact with...death. And blood. And wreckage. It made him feel a bit ill. He had to help the purple Andalite, though. He had to. There was no way in hell he'd leave some to die...or worse.
He approached cautiously, and called out, voice full of concern, <Are you alright?>

For a moment the one female Andalite still alive seemed disoriented. It seemed to take her several seconds to realize someone was even speaking to her, let alone figure out what it was they'd said.
<.....Yes?> She replied sound perhaps a bit uncertain her self. Upon trying to stand up, however, she quickly with drew her statement with a mental yelp. One of her legs had been broken, and she was only now just realizing that she had three others to spare in stead of just one.
Her senses slowly began to return, quickly realizing the body she was in wasn't her own. For a moment she tried to remember what it was she had to do about that. Even as Leona found her self unable to demorph the thought that she'd gone over two hours, that she might be trapped didn't seem to occur to her at the moment.
She staggered a few steps, managing to stumble out of the ship, trying to get her four eyes to focus enough to find the source of the mental voice she'd 'heard'' a moment ago. <Who's there?>

There was pain in its voice. Jamie could tell the Andalite had been hurt badly. It took her a while for it to get to its feet, and it was having difficulty. Jamilan moved forward, hoping to help it out. <Who's there?> the Andalite asked.
Jamilan moved forward, leaping over a large piece of twisted metal. <Jamilan-Misheil-Kelain; I'm an Andalite.> He hoped it would believe him. He was, after all, sorta an Andalite. <Here, lean on me.> He could tell there was something wrong with one of its legs; probably broken. <I can get you help, but I won't leave you here alone.>

One of her stalks instinctively darted toward the sight of movement before she managed to turn her head to focus in on what looked to be another Andalite, only a real one apparently. She knew her name didn't sound anything like an Andalite's, maybe in this chaos he would forget to ask her for it.
As instructed she allowed her self to lean against Jamilan, finding it much easier to support her self that way. Still looking a bit disoriented Leona glanced around, before one of her stalks caught sight of Shalaren's dead body.
<Shalaren!> Her thoughts suddenly cried, as she tired to turn back in toward the ship. Her main eyes winced in pain from the sudden movement. <I can't....leave her.> A part of her simply refused to believe Shalaren was dead. However even if her friend was gone Leona still couldn't leave her body, not knowing it would likely be cleaned up by taxxons.

The blood was making Jamilan feel a bit queasy. He'd only had issues with wounds a few times in his life...the most recent being the small battle with Visser Three. He let it lean against him, and was about to begin walking, when it exclaimed its friend's name, and looked at the body, Jamilan's stalk-eyes following. <I can't...leave her....>
Jamilan assumed Shalaren was this girl's twin sister. He shuddered at the idea of carrying a dead body. It made him feel ill. He didn't know what to do about this. The Andalite had to get to the safety of the scoop. She was wounded. Then he realised, about when he'd once morphed his wounds away. <Can you morph?> he asked her. <If you can, you'd be able to get rid of your wounds, and we could carry her body and give her a proper burial.>

Morph? Demorph! Leona lifted a hand to her head, only now realizing it was pounding as she became fully aware of the situation. She'd tired demorphing once, but nothing happened. Was she trapped? Forever!
Leona tried again, focusing on what she once was, but again nothing changed. <I....can't.> She answered finally.
For a moment her gaze lingered on her dead friend, one of her hands lifting to toy with the odd pendant hanging from her neck. <She's dead isn't she?> Leona's thoughts dared to whisper as she finally forced all four of her eyes to look away from the gruesome sight.

Jamie noticed her focusing, trying to morph. But in the end, she couldn't, it seemed. He didn't know how the Andalites or the humans got the morphing power; this body seemed to have come with it. Damn...
Jamie noticed the pendant, wondering what kind of sentimental value it had to her. Then, she hazarded to ask, <She's dead, isn't she?>
Jamilan's stalk-eyes drooped. <I'm sorry to say that I believe she is...but still, she deserves a proper burial...> But then, red lights appeared in the sky. <What is it with all these motherfucking Yeerks on this motherfucking planet...> he muttered. <We gotta go.> He raised his tailblade, ready to use it to protect his newfound friend, as he started moving, as quickly as he could with the Andalite in tow. <I'm really sorry. But those are Yeerks...I'm sure you know about them.> His free hand curled into a fist. <I hate Yeerks.>

<...> Yes...Leona dot dot doted. In the odd mental way that thought-speak worked one could almost literally see the three periods in their head. The brow area above one of her main eyes, where an eye brow would of been were she human.
<...Please tell me you did not just seriously quote Snakes on a Plane?> She said, annoyance in her thoughts at the sheer ridiculousness of it. An 'Andalite' was quoting Samuel L. Jackson to her.
Leona would likely have inquired further in to how he'd come to see the movie, however, there were far more serious matters to worry about now. It was them it had to be, and that meant it was time run.
Leona knew the strength of the yeerk empire all too well, two Andalites, one injured and unable to morph, with no weapons, stood no chance in a battle against a scouting party of hork-bajir, taxxon and humans with dracon beams. Not to mention that with an incident such as this there was no doubt that he would be with them.
<We have to go.> Leona suddenly said firmly, flipping in to combat mode. A skill she was ashamed to admit she learned from her former slaver.

<Please tell me you did not just seriously quote Snakes on a Plane?> <Yes...I did,> Jamilan replied, with an eye-frown. <I have seen that movie, and found it amusing.> He tried to sound as much like an Andalite as he could, to make up for that blunder. Suddenly, the Andalite girl got more serious.<We have to go.> <That's what we're doing,> Jamilan replied. He wanted to add <With you in tow, I really can't go any faster.> but he neglected to, and just continued on, as fast as he could.
Something dropped into the trees. Oh, oh, that wasn't good. Jamie's stalk-eyes noticed something with a snake-like neck, before it leaped from the tree and bounded towards them, more joining. He didn't exactly know what they were called; he hadn't encountered the bladed things since the Yeerk pool. He hadn't yet gotten his briefing; that was supposed to be happening tomorrow. <Looks like we'll be fighting, after all.> There was a big rock; he made for it, and set her in its shade.
Just in time. A bladed thing lunged; Jamilan's tailblade met with a wristblade. His main-eyes staring into the demonic bladed reptile; it had connections with Yeerks. He hated it because of that. And it was trying to hurt what was to him a defenseless girl. He soon found himself getting really angry.
FWAP! FWAP! FWAP!
Blood sprayed from every wound he quickly and crudely made. It matted down his fur; some even got onto his face. He didn't take notice - yet. He was too busy taking his rage out on the thing.
FWAP! FWAP! FWAP! FWAP!
He struck again. The creature keeled backwards, to be surged over by those disgusting worm things. Jamie decided to kill them, too.
FWAP! FWAP!
The worms burst open, and started consuming themselves. One dropped a gun; Jamie used his tailblade to scoop it up, taking it into his hand and tossing it to the Andalite female. <Know how to use this?> Two more living weedwhackers advanced on him.

With Jamilan's add Leona moved as quickly though the forest as she could on three legs. She managed, staggering and wincing ever now and then when she was forced to use her broken leg to steady her self.
Leaning on the rock Jamilan had lead her too Leona quickly spotted the approaching Hork-Bajir. Instinctively the tail of her new body lifted, held ready to strike.
Jamilan, obviously faster on his feet, got to the Hork-Bajir first, though he made short work of the alien, it wasn't quite as short as she'd seen most Andalites do in combat. His strikes seemed purely triggered by instinct, untrained and unrefined. She was sure her own would be similar.
Leona easily caught the dracon beam not hesitating to use it. She lifted the weapon quickly picking off one Hork-Bajir with a clean head shot, catching the other in the chest as he humped from one tree to another.
<What do you think?> Leona answered almost cockily.

Alas, such cockiness would prove to be the nothlit's undoing.
As she said this, her eyes were complacently turned away from the Hork-Bajir that was swiftly charging behind the Andalite female.
Suddenly, just as the Hork-Bajir was about to cleave into Leona, a heroic shadow slipped in...
It was none other than Aximili, who had been enjoying a midnight trot when he noticed Yeerk activity in the fringes of his forest.
He commenced a cautionary investigation to find Jamilan and an unknown female Andalite being accosted by the vile fiends, so he leaped into combative action.
Literally.
Aximili had galloped up to a ferocious speed toward the Hork-Bajir and then jumped into the air, cleaving the alien's head right off before it could harm the female.
Landing solidly on the ground and staying silent for a moment, he turned to the two Andalites.
<Are you both in...unharmed condition?> He inquired, pointing his stalk-eyes to Jamilan and his main eyes to the Andalite female.

C'mon Jamie... he thought. You've fought Visser Three, and nearly won...you can take on these things. Then he added, Nearly. By a hair. One stroke from him might have killed you.
He nearly pissed himself as the monster's head was blown clean off. As another was hit in the chest, he realised the blood that was on him, and felt sicker. Ugh, he was going to have lots of nightmares tonight.
<Nice shot,> he commented. <Really nice shot.>
And then someone leaped into the fray. A head rolled to Jamie's feet. Jamie vomited, through his hooves, into the grass. <Are you both in...unharmed condition?> asked Ax, the Animorphs' resident Andalite.
<<Oh, h-hey, Ax-man,>> Jamie said, privately and shakily. <<N-not really...she's got a broken l-leg and I'm sc-scared out of my mind...what are these things called?>>

<We have to loose them.> Leona's thoughts interjected, her mind too focused on the battle to worry about anything else. Three Andalites were a bit more formidable, but they were still greatly out numbered.
<How well do you two know this forest?> She asked quickly while already trying to run on just three legs. Leona was more careful to keep an eye on her back side this time, her other stalk checking to make sure the other two were smart enough to join her in fleeing.

<These aliens are slaves to the Yeerks, known as Hork-Bajir and Taxxons. And she has a broken leg?> He privately communicated with Jamilan.
The then spoke to both of them.
<I am familiar enough with this forest that I can lead you both to my scoop. It is some distance away from us and the Yeerks, so that location would be most ideal.> Responded Aximili as he scanned their surroundings.
Not desiring to waste anymore time, he trotted in front of the two Andalites.
<Follow me. I will lead you to safety.>
